Orthopedic and specialty veterinary procedures are expensive, and although many owners are able to successfully rest and restrict their dogs after surgery, if done incorrectly there is a high risk of compromising the final results. Many owners feel overwhelmed during their pet's immediate

postoperative recovery, or do not have a compatible home environment for the required restrictions. 

 

At The Healing Hound, owner and care provider Katlyn Coveney creates a calm and safe environment for your pet to recover after their surgery or as an alternative to medical boarding. Equipped with a mobility ramp, a secure and appropriately restrictive pen, comfortable bedding, and extensive canine rehabilitation training and experience, The Healing Hound will provide the most comfortable space for a dog to recover. Katlyn's background in canine rehabilitation and hands-on experience in the field have given her insight into what to look out for in terms of complications, how to best avoid problematic situations, and how to prepare and care for immobile and painful canine patients of all sizes. In addition, Katlyn is Fear Free Certified.

 

The Healing Hound will be sure to make this challenging time for your pet as comfortable as possible. Please note, only one dog is cared for at any given time. Because of this, scheduling in advance is highly recommended. While I am based in Cambridge, MA and host postoperative patients from my home, in some circumstances I have travelled out-of-state for clients, offering the same services as a guest in their home.
